Tensions Escalate Between Algeria and Mali After Drone Incident

Things are getting tense between Algeria and Mali, especially after the Algerian military shot down a Malian drone recently. The incident has sparked a serious diplomatic row, with both countries accusing each other of escalating the situation.
Algeria claims that Mali has violated its airspace three times in recent months. In response to this, Algeria took drastic steps, withdrawing its ambassadors from Mali, as well as from Burkina Faso and Niger. To make matters worse, Algeria has now banned flights to and from Mali, and even pulled its ambassadors from both Mali and Niger.
Mali, on the other hand, argues that the drone was simply flying near the border as part of their efforts to combat terrorism. They’ve accused Algeria of supporting international terrorism, which only adds more fuel to the fire.
This has created a complex and volatile situation, with both sides digging in their heels. As tensions rise, it’s unclear where things will go from here. The conflict is a stark reminder of how regional politics can quickly spiral when misunderstandings and accusations pile up.
