In a strong signal of deepening South-South cooperation, HE. Younes Sekkouri, Morocco’s Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, welcomed H.E. Mrs. Nkiruka Onyejeocha, Nigeria’s Minister of Labour and Employment in June, for an official working visit focused on advancing bilateral collaboration in employment, skills development, and youth inclusion.
Held under the guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco and His Excellency President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the visit highlighted both countries’ commitment to forging impactful partnerships that drive sustainable development across the continent.
Discussions during the meeting centered on strategies to expand employment opportunities, promote skills acquisition among youth, and foster inclusive economic growth. Both ministers emphasized the importance of designing programs that equip young people with the competencies needed to thrive in evolving labor markets.
The visit also underscored the shared ambition to build resilient, forward-looking frameworks for cooperation, consistent with broader African goals for integration, solidarity, and mutual prosperity.
Officials described the exchange as insightful and strategic, laying the foundation for concrete initiatives that will benefit citizens of both nations.
By reinforcing these ties, Morocco and Nigeria are charting a path toward meaningful collaboration that advances their common goals, sets an example for South-South cooperation, and contributes to stability and economic inclusion across Africa.
