Tiwa Savage Unveils Music Foundation, Partners Berklee To Train 100 African Creatives In Lagos

Tiwa Savage launches foundation with Berklee partnership, offering free four-day intensive programme for 100 African creatives in Lagos.

Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has officially launched a new music foundation aimed at empowering young African creatives, announcing a partnership with the prestigious Berklee College of Music to train 100 emerging talents in Lagos.

The initiative, unveiled in Lagos, is designed to provide structured music education, mentorship and professional development opportunities for aspiring artists, producers, songwriters and music entrepreneurs across the continent.

Speaking at the launch, Tiwa Savage said the foundation is part of her commitment to giving back to the industry that shaped her career. She emphasised the need for African creatives to gain access not only to talent platforms but also to formal music education and global exposure.

Through the collaboration with Berklee College of Music, participants will receive hands-on training from industry professionals, covering areas such as songwriting, vocal performance, music production, and the business side of entertainment.

The programme aims to bridge the gap between raw talent and professional excellence, equipping creatives with the tools needed to compete on the global stage.

The training is expected to take place in Lagos and will target 100 selected creatives, offering them an opportunity to learn from an internationally recognised institution without having to travel abroad.

Tiwa Savage noted that Africa is brimming with talent but often lacks access to structured learning environments and mentorship systems that can refine and position creatives for sustainable careers.

She described the foundation as a long-term investment in the continent’s creative economy.

The partnership also reflects the growing global recognition of African music and its expanding influence worldwide. By connecting local talent with international expertise, the initiative aims to strengthen Africa’s presence in the global music industry.

The launch marks a significant step in supporting creative development in Nigeria and across Africa, as industry leaders increasingly look toward building sustainable systems for talent growth beyond commercial success.
