The New Africa Group to Host CSW70 Side Event on Women’s Economic Empowerment in New York.

The New Africa Group, in partnership with Vivacity Development and in conjunction with SEF, will host an official side event at the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) in New York.

The high-level dialogue titled “Future of Work, Future of Justice: Strengthening Legal Pathways for Women’s Economic Empowerment” will bring together global stakeholders to examine how women can be better included and protected as the world of work rapidly evolves.

The event will hold on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the ILR School, Cornell University, 570 Lexington Avenue, Manhattan, New York.

As industries transform through technology, climate action, and economic shifts, the conversation will focus on an important question: Are women being meaningfully included in the future of work, or are they being left further behind?

The dialogue will convene policymakers, legal and economic experts, technology leaders, grassroots advocates, and private sector representatives to explore practical solutions that strengthen women’s participation and economic opportunities.

Key discussion areas will include:

Women’s participation in technology and STEM

The recognition and valuation of care work

Women’s leadership in green and climate-smart jobs

Job security, social protection, and equal pay

Organizers say the event aims to contribute to global efforts toward building fairer labour systems and strengthening legal frameworks that support women’s economic empowerment worldwide.
