Morocco Launches New School of Engineering for Digital Transition and AI

On July 4, 2025, Morocco marked a new milestone in its digital transformation journey with the signing of a tripartite agreement to create a School of Engineering focused on digital transition and artificial intelligence. The agreement was signed by Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, alongside André Azoulay, Advisor to His Majesty the King and President of the Foundation for Research, Development and Innovation in Science and Engineering (FRDISI), and Azzedine El Midaoui, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation.

The new school will train engineers in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital systems, aiming to support Morocco’s strategic efforts to advance digital capabilities across all sectors. The signing took place during FRDISI’s Board of Directors meeting, hosted at the École Supérieure de Génie Biomédical et des Techniques de Santé SUPTECH in Mohammedia.
In addition to the creation of the school, the meeting covered the approval of the Foundation’s financial and activity reports for the previous year, adoption of strategic resolutions, and planning for the 2025–2026 operational cycle.

This initiative aligns with Morocco’s national digital strategy, which emphasizes the training of youth in advanced technologies, digital inclusion, and the development of an ecosystem that supports innovation. The new institution will contribute to that vision by equipping students with technical skills that match Morocco’s broader digital transformation goals.
