Ethiopia’s AI Initiatives Exemplary for Africa, Says Liberian Foreign Minister
Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, commended Ethiopia’s advances in artificial intelligence, describing them as a model for other African nations to follow.

Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, has commended Ethiopia for its advances in artificial intelligence, describing the country’s progress as a model for other African nations.

A Liberian delegation led by Nyanti paid a working visit to the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute (EAII), where they were received by the institute’s Director General, Worku Gachena.
During the visit, Gachena provided a comprehensive briefing on the institute’s ongoing projects, highlighting a range of activities spanning research and practical applications aimed at addressing societal challenges.

He noted that the institute is committed to fostering continental cooperation and is ready to share its technological expertise and experiences with other African countries.
Nyanti expressed admiration for Ethiopia’s performance in the AI sector, stating that its achievements offer important lessons for Africa, particularly for Liberia.
“We stand for a better Liberia,” the minister said, adding that her country intends to adopt Ethiopia’s best practices in AI technology as a benchmark.

She further described Ethiopia’s work in artificial intelligence as pioneering for the continent, stressing the need to prioritise education to ensure that AI becomes a key driver of Africa’s future development.
The visit is expected to mark the beginning of a new phase of bilateral cooperation between Ethiopia and Liberia, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.
