Relief in Kwara: 38 Abducted Church Worshippers Finally Regain Freedom

After days of fear and uncertainty, the 38 worshippers kidnapped from Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State, have finally regained their freedom bringing a wave of relief to families, the church community, and Nigerians across the country.
The attack happened during a church program when armed men stormed the premises, killed three people, and whisked away dozens of worshippers into the forest. What started as a desperate search later became a full-scale rescue operation, with the Kwara State Government working hand-in-hand with top national security agencies.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq confirmed their release, praising President Bola Tinubu for personally stepping in to coordinate federal support. The abducted worshippers were immediately taken for medical evaluation, while security agencies continue combing the area to prevent follow-up attacks.
This rescue, though a moment of relief, also highlights Nigeria’s growing security challenges — from attacks on worship centres to mass school abductions. As the country battles rising insecurity, the freedom of these 38 worshippers stands as a reminder that coordinated action can save lives, and that communities deserve stronger protection before tragedy strikes.
