Nigeria, United States Intensify Security Cooperation, Conduct Airstrikes on Terrorist Targets.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria confirms that Nigerian authorities remain engaged in structured security cooperation with international partners, including the United States of America, in addressing the persistent threat of terrorism and violent extremism.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has confirmed ongoing security and intelligence cooperation with the United States aimed at countering terrorism and violent extremism across the country, particularly in the North West region.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigerian authorities disclosed that the collaboration has resulted in precision airstrikes against identified terrorist targets, as part of broader counter-terrorism operations.
According to the ministry, the partnership with the United States operates within established bilateral frameworks and international best practices. It includes intelligence sharing, strategic coordination, and other forms of support, all carried out in line with international law and with respect for Nigeria’s sovereignty.

The government emphasized that civilian protection remains central to all counter-terrorism efforts. It reiterated that terrorist violence, regardless of whether it targets Christians, Muslims, or other communities, is unacceptable and poses a threat to national unity as well as regional and global security.
The statement further noted that Nigeria continues to collaborate with international partners to disrupt terrorist networks, cut off their financing and logistics chains, and prevent cross-border security threats, while simultaneously strengthening the country’s own intelligence and security institutions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured Nigerians that engagement with international partners will continue through official diplomatic and security channels, adding that the public will be kept informed through appropriate government communications.
