HM King Mohammed VI Leadership Puts People First, Anchored in Dignity, Justice, and Empowerment — Karima Rhanem, Global Citizen and Diplomat

On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne, Karima Rhanem, Global Senior Managing Editor of The New Africa Magazine, President of the International Center for Diplomacy, and recognized advocate for citizen diplomacy and international cooperation, paid tribute to His Majesty’s human-centered and visionary leadership.
She praised the Monarch’s unwavering commitment to “placing human dignity, citizen empowerment, and social justice at the heart of the national agenda.”
“I express my deepest respect and admiration for the unwavering commitment of His Majesty to the values of peace, unity, and inclusive development,” she stated. “Since His enthronement, His Majesty has pursued a bold and visionary path.”
Ms. Rhanem emphasized both domestic and international impact: “His reformist leadership has not only strengthened Morocco’s democratic institutions and socioeconomic foundations, but has also positioned the Kingdom as a reliable and forward-looking partner on the African and global stage.”
She also highlighted His Majesty’s strategic investment in South-South cooperation. “Rooted in mutual respect, solidarity, and shared prosperity, this approach has opened new avenues for collaboration among African nations, encouraging dynamic engagement across sectors and involving a wide spectrum of stakeholders — from governments to civil society, youth, women, and local communities.”
“By placing Africa at the heart of Morocco’s foreign policy, His Majesty has redefined cooperation among African states — not as a transactional relationship, but as a genuine partnership grounded in co-development, mutual benefit, and shared sovereignty.”
Ms. Rhanem described Morocco’s diplomatic leadership as pragmatic, inclusive, and human-centered: “His Majesty’s model of leadership is widely recognized for its long-term vision and inclusive diplomacy. By empowering non-state actors to contribute meaningfully to international cooperation, Morocco is helping shape sustainable development outcomes far beyond its borders.”
She concluded: “Under His enlightened leadership, Morocco has become a hub of African solidarity and a model of diplomatic balance — upholding peace, tolerance, and cultural dialogue, while promoting African solutions to African challenges.”
Ms. Rhanem closed with a royal benediction: “May the Almighty preserve His Majesty King Mohammed VI, grant Him long life, good health, and continued success, and bless Him in the person of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, and all members of the Illustrious Royal Family.”
