Epik Leaders Launches Summer Academy in Agadir, Fostering a New Generation of African Leaders

Agadir, Morocco – June 25, 2025 – The Epik Leaders Summer Academy opened on June 23 in Agadir, Morocco with an inaugural event hosted by the newly established pan-African organization Epik Leaders.

It aims at cultivating young African leaders through a comprehensive approach centered on soft skills training, learning by doing, and networking.

The opening ceremony brought together a vibrant cohort of 200 young leaders from across all regions of Morocco and 15 other African countries, including Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Tunisia.

This diverse representation underscored Epik Leaders’ commitment to fostering continent-wide collaboration and leadership development.

Dr. Nizar Chaari, founder of Epik Leaders, in his inspiring inaugural address, emphasized the critical need to empower a new generation of African leaders equipped to navigate the complexities of the current era, characterized by rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and significant geostrategic shifts worldwide.

He highlighted Africa’s immense wealth in natural resources and its intelligent human capital, noting that these assets are often leveraged more by global powers than by African nations themselves. Dr. Chaari further stressed the importance of co-construction among universities, private recruiters, and civil society to develop robust mentorship and follow-up programs tailored for “Generation Alpha.”

The Summer Academy is set to run throughout the week, offering a rich and varied program. Participants will engage in extensive training sessions, cultural cafés, political discussions, and insightful on-site visits, all designed to equip them with the skills and perspectives necessary to drive positive change across the continent.
