“HM King Mohammed VI’s Diplomacy Has Led a New Generation of Sovereign and Solidarity-Based Leadership,” Says Gift Orairu

On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors, Gift Chidima Nnamoko Orairu — Founder of The New Africa Group and Publisher of The New Africa Magazine — paid tribute to a leader she described as the architect of a “new generation of diplomacy rooted in cultural pride, economic interdependence, and sovereign partnership.”
“As the Kingdom of Morocco marks this milestone, I wish to pay tribute to a leader whose vision and diplomacy have significantly shaped modern Africa’s path toward unity, stability, and shared prosperity,” Ms. Orairu stated.
She emphasized the strategic depth of His Majesty’s leadership: “His Majesty has established himself as one of the continent’s most thoughtful and strategic leaders — one who understands that Africa’s development must be anchored in cooperation, solidarity, and mutual respect.”
Highlighting His Majesty’s broader continental influence, she noted: “Over the past two decades, His Majesty has led a new generation of diplomacy rooted in cultural pride, economic interdependence, and sovereign partnership.”
Under His reign, Morocco has grown into a regional anchor. “Morocco has strengthened its position as a continental hub — economically, politically, and symbolically. His championing of South–South cooperation has inspired a growing movement across Africa that recognizes the value of African-led solutions and regional integration.”
Ms. Orairu also pointed to Morocco’s diplomatic success in the international arena: “His Majesty’s firm yet peaceful defense of Morocco’s territorial integrity — through diplomatic engagement and international outreach — has earned Morocco increasing global support for its Autonomy Initiative. This reflects a leadership style grounded in legitimacy, long-term vision, and respect for dialogue.”
She concluded: “His Majesty’s reign serves as a model of how consistent, principled leadership can bring about real change — not just within national borders, but across an entire region.”
