Beauty trends spotlight natural care and AI innovation in Morocco

Casablanca is offering a glimpse into where the beauty industry is heading, as professionals and enthusiasts gather at Cosmetista Expo North & West Africa to explore products that blend wellness, technology and tradition.

Across exhibition halls, the global beauty industry is showing a clear shift toward gentler, more natural, and wellness-focused products.

Industry stakeholders say consumer demand has evolved significantly over the past decade. “Ten years ago, people were more interested in organic products,” said Walid Mady of Kuwait-based Goldery & More. “Now they are looking for vegan products and safer ingredients that do not harm the hair or skin.”

The event also placed strong emphasis on beauty as a tool for confidence and recovery. Lebanese specialist Faisal Harkous demonstrated semi-permanent makeup techniques, including microblading, which can help chemotherapy patients restore the appearance of their eyebrows during or after treatment.

Innovation remained a central theme, with Moroccan company Specta unveiling “DermaView,” an artificial intelligence-powered device that analyzes skin conditions such as wrinkles and pores, delivering rapid diagnostic insights for dermatologists and beauty professionals.

From traditional Moroccan hammam treatments to Korean skincare innovations and advanced aesthetic technologies, the exhibition highlights an industry increasingly shaped by care, personalization, and digital transformation.
